Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Clicio Barroso has an extensive background in advertising and fashion photography.

In the 1970's, he graduated from Camera Photoagenthur/Nikon School of Photography, while working as a First Camera Assistant and later as an Assistant Director of Photography in commercial moviemaking. In the late 70's, Clicio spent a year in New York City working as an assistant, and was soon hired by Editora Abril, the largest magazine publishing house in Brazil, to work in its in-house photography studio.

In the early 1980's, the photographer moved to Europe, where he lived for eight years, handling editorial and advertising work for clients in Spain, Italy, Germany, Greece and Portugal. Since returning to Brazil in the early 1990's, Clicio has been working mostly for Brazilian fashion magazines, advertising agencies and commercial movie producers.

Beyond his photography work, which is mostly done in his studio; Clicio is a digital expert, teaching courses at several universities and schools, and handling his own digital retouching on pictures produced in the studio.

With major global clients such as Mary Kay, Coca-Cola, Phillips and Gatorade, the photographer still finds time to learn about digital techniques, having taken classes recently with Dan Margulis, Scott Kelby, Jack Davis and Peter Krogh, among other well known digital gurus.

As Director of the Fototech Photographers Association, Clicio is a regular contributor to many specialized magazines such as PhotoPro, Fhox, Fotografe, Fotosite, Desktop and Publish.

In the USA, Clicio is represented by Alex Simon Artists, based in Las Vegas.
